This is page for TransMen. I am hoping to get followers who want to ask questions or what not. I live stealth but am looking for a way to share what advice or experience I have and help other guys who are earlier in transition. I am 24 years old. 3 years on T, about 21 months since my complete hysto and just over 1 year since my top surgery with Dr. Garramone. I am legally and socially 100% male.

Oliver Button Is a Sissy by Tomie dePaola
Oliver’s classmates tease him because he’d rather dance than play ball. You can read the whole story here, though without illustrations.

-I have not read this book but I have signed books by this author from when I was a kid. I am big fan of his work.

Hey, guys. I need some help.<—- MY OPINION TO OP

IMO it may be worthwhile to talk to your primary care about their experience or willingness in working with Trans patients. They may have no issue with trans people but arent comfortable overseeing your hormone therapy. If they are not ok for whatever reason then I would recommend trying to find an endocronologist before you’re ready to start because my endo for instance books 3 months out so it can be difficult to get in and they normally want blood work and stuff done before they actually write a script. On a side note about your primary if they are not ok with your transition because of transphobia then find another doctor even if they are not going to be dealing with your transition directly. MANY doctors are somewhat aware of trans people and are ok with it but doctors are human with their own opinions and “values” and I personally would not use a medical professional who was not ok with my transition because its tied into every area of your health. Again this is just my opinion.

So, in a couple of months, I wanna go on T. Do I immediately contact an endo and ask them if I can start T? Or should I call my doctor and ask if I can get T through her? (I’m not sure if my doctor is trans friendly or not or if the facility itself is. It’s Sun Valley Family Care, by the way.) Would I just have to bring a T letter with me if my doctor considers it? (note: I’ll be 18 in a couple of months.)

This Gendered Life: Carrying T on a plane →

This following post is an important one regarding taking your T on a plane. Its important to remember that biologial men can also be prescribed T so you do not need to disclose more information than you feel comfortable with. I also recommend carrying a note from your physician with no real explanation just stating that you are prescribed the T and the needed syringes and listing a phone number should there be any questions. Should you have these items in your car for any reason and are ever pulled over and/or searched the note is helpful then as well.

I’m in Florida, about 1400 miles away from my home, visiting my parents for the holidays. This is only the second time I’ve had to fly since starting hormones, and the first time I had to bring my script with me. It’s bad enough that both airports have those body scanner things, I’m terrified of…

Post

Allow me to introduce myself…

With 2012 coming I would really like to get serious about keeping up on this blog and helping out my trans community in any small way I can. Though the info part of this tumblr pretty much sums it up, I thought my first post should be a bit more about myself.

My name is Theodore Judd (Insert Last Name Here) though I go by TJ and I am 24 years old. I currently am attending graduate school and living in the north east US with my wife. I consider myself bisexual though before transition I was straight (perhaps that could be its own post). I enjoy playing basketball, reading, and hanging out with friends. I am a pretty laid back and mild person. I have very strong opinions and values and though I will try to keep them at minimum around here, I make no promises haha. I will mostly try to keep my opinions to myself because amongst my age group and queer community they are not too popular haha. I tend have rather conservative and old fashioned social views. Annnyway, I am unsure what else to post about myself here so I am hoping for questions. I am open to writing about what anyone would find helpful but I figure some topics could be my hysto experience, my top surgery experience, physical and non-physical changes from Testosterone, how my sexuality has changed, the process of making legal changes I had to go through, and family/friends reactions and changes. Like I said those are just a few ideas please do not hesistate to ask for what would help you.
